“I have a great camera, but I've never read the manual. I wish I knew how to take better photos.”
It's a common problem. Most people never get past the Quick Start guide and explore just what their cameras can do. My personal philosophy is that photography is more about the photographer and less about the equipment. I firmly believe that the best camera is the one you have with you at the moment. My photo lessons are based around that statement.
You don't need a $3000 DSLR to take great photos.
What you do need a basic understanding of light, exposure, and composition.
John Bulmer Photography offers practical photo lessons that get you up and running fast and are based on what you are most interested in capturing. I find that students are more engaged if they are learning how to shoot photos that are important to them. You'll learn the camera settings and composition tips that will get you the photos you want the most. After each lesson, you'll receive a supportive, one-on-one photo critique that will allow you to further refine your process.
Over the course of my career, I've shot every conceivable subject under the harshest lighting and environmental conditions. My lessons are based on the hard won shortcuts I've developed as a working professional photographer.
Subjects include but are not limited to:
Capturing Images for Social Media
Children and Family Portraits
Nature and Landscapes
Photo Editing (Photoshop & Lightroom)
Lessons start at $75 and are personally crafted to your interests. Lessons are limited to 5 participants to ensure greater student/instructor interaction. Individual lessons, custom subjects and corporate rates are also available. Prices vary based on location.
John Bulmer is an internationally published professional photographer specializing in commercial and environmental images.
I'm happy to have my image of 2 hawks riding thermals at Paint Mine Falls in John Boyd Thacher State Park as the cover image on the New York State Conservationist Magazine's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/NYSDECtheconservationist
